Fujiko is a feature for either soprano or tenor saxophone which initially explores the low register of the instrument before embarking on a journey upwards! A beautifully scored reflective and melancholy piece. Originally scored for clarinet choir, featuring Eb clarinet, and commissioned by the British Clarinet Ensemble for their performance at the 2005 Clarinet-fest of the International Clarinet Association held in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday 23rd July 2005, with sponsorship from the Clarinet & Saxophone Society of Great Britain and Henri Selmer Paris. The BCE recorded 'Fujiko' on its CD 'Looping the Loop'.
