The 3 Pieces may be played either by themselves, in sets of two, or all three together. The order should be decided by the performer, to suit their programme.
dawn song: for Saxophone was written in October 2004 as a sister piece to 1AM and èlègie. It takes some of the structural, harmonic, rhythmic and melodic elements from the first two pieces, and blends it into a new and different piece, but still retaining some of the key elements of the music. |
