| Programme notes: | Written in memory of jazz singer Shirley Horn. During his time in New York City 2006 Andy Scott was performing at the IAJE Conference with Dave Hassell, and was rehearsing ?Concerto for Stan Getz? with RRB, Andy was asked if he would mind playing a new piece for Clarinet & Piano.
Following this run through it was suggested they edit the clarinet part so a saxophone version may be published.
The piece is a beautifully crafted heartfelt composition, and was performed for the first time in it?s present form at the RNCM Sax Day 2008. |
