Programme notes: | Each of my nine Generic Compositions isolates an aspect of instrumental behaviour for compositional attention: Generic Composition #7 it?s the variable alternation of unconventional finger positions in a keyed wind instrument; in this case tenor saxophone. What interests me in these Generic Compositions is the extent to which instruments seem to write their own music when composers and their players let them. |
