This is a three movement piece for tenor (alternate alto sax part) and concert band commissioned by a consortium of 50 schools spearheaded by Cody Birdwell at the University of Kentucky Lexington. The saxophone part is quite difficult and the band has lots to play. The percussion section functions like one big drum set at times, and requires some knowledge of groove musics. |
